I'm interested in knowing whether any of the common code
generator-generators (Glanville, Cattell, Ganapathi, etc) are used in
any production compilers. Assuming they are not, is this just a
manifestation of academia vs. industry, or are there real reasons for
not using them in (*ahem*) real compilers?


Pointers and opinions welcome. Particulary from those with experience
with more than one CGG.
