IBM's C/370 Compiler for MVS... Optimizing I/O davecr@meaddata.com (1995-02-21) |

OK gang, I am looking for either a person who is knowledgable in the
above topic or to be pointed to the right newsgroup where I might
find someone who is.
And before I get all beat on the net, I am one of those developers
who codes in both the UNIX and Mainframe worlds.
I went thru the fun task of having to revisit some code here that
was last touched over 4 years ago and was compiled under IBM's C/370
Ver.1, Rel.1 and ported it to the newest version 2.2.
The code I have at this minute is taking a beating in its I/O performance,
it has increased by 1000%. The IBM manuals on its latest compiler is
unclear on which function for reading and writing data are the best
for optimizing I/O.
I am open to any sugestions, please let me know.
Thanks,
Dave
PS. Our people have put out a note to IBM, but I thought I might get
a faster response from one of you all on the net.
Kind of anxious, huh ??????
