Sigh ... concerning things that are out of date, the National Bureau of
Standards is now NIST, which I guess to be the National Institute of Standards
in Technology (or something like that; perhaps someone who really knows can
correct me or confirm this). Personally, I thought NBS was a perfectly good
and clear name, but they didn't ask me ....
