The organizing committee of PACT'99 would like to invite you to
participate in the conference to be held at Marriott Hotel and Tennis
Club in Newport Beach, California from October 12 to October 16. This
message is intentionally made short as the details of the conference
may be obtained at our web site:

If you have any questions regarding the conference, please contact the

Some of the highlights are as follows:


o Travel grant to students and junior faculty members. A junior
    faculty member is defined as one who has received the Ph.D degree
    within the last 2 years.


o Three days of paper sessions ranging from microarchitecture to
    applied analytical techniques


o Two half day tutorials on October 12:
    AM Session: The IA-64 Architecture and Technology offered by
                            Jesse Fang, Thomas Willis, Wei Li from Intel
                            Corporation
    PM Session: Multimedia Data Compression offered by
                            Shahram Latifi, University of Nevada, Las Vegas and
                            Nader Bagherzadeh, University of California, Irvine


o There will be an invited speaker everyday during the paper
    session (October 13-15) giving perspectives on many interesting
    topics. Some of the topics will be future of high-performance
    computing technology and the applicability of Linux on
    supercomputing


o There will be an exciting panel discussion on October 14.


o There are two workshops scheduled for Saturday, October 16. There is
    no extra fee to attend the workshops.


o Dick Sites, architect of the DEC/Compaq Alpha and leader of the
    FX!32, VEST, and mx binary translation projects will present an hour
    long keynote address on "Historical Perspectives on Binary
    Translation"
