We are please to announce the beta release of the Hot Path Browser
(HPB), version 0.9, and the Path Profiling (PP) Tool, version 2.3.

The Hot Path Browser is a GUI for helping programmers understand
program execution behavior in terms of execution paths. HPB is
written in Java and uses a web-browser paradigm for helping
programmers analyze path profiles. HPB reads path profiles specified
in a generic ASCII format, which could be produced by various
performance monitoring tools. The PP path profiling tool instruments
Sparc/Solaris executables and produces profiles in this format.

For information on HPB and how to obtain the HPB and PP distributions,
visit the HPB home page at:

HPB was jointly developed by Thomas Ball, James Larus and Genevieve
Rosay. PP was jointly developed by Glenn Ammons, Thomas Ball and
James Larus.
