Hi,
My thanks go out to Glenn and Etienne for their enlightening responses.
Etienne, I've downloaded a copy of SableCC - an impressive tool. It's good to
have a look at another Java 1.1 grammar for comparison purposes, and I hope to
try some experiments with SableCC in our environment (I work with the reverse
engineering of source code for an object-oriented design tool).
Glenn, the error/ambiguity document you mentioned is interesting, and will
provide fodder for another round of verification of our grammar before we
release the product. I do hope that the ISO standard for Java is released
soon, and in the mean time we'll do the best we can to adjust the grammar for
user's expectations.
