Build/Release Engineer
Tasks Description:
Generating software builds and creating product releases for quality
assurance (QA) testing and final products. Ensuring successful regularly
scheduled builds and managing the release process. Jointly responsible with
other members of a team for administrating the software configuration
management (SCM) system. Recommending and implementing improvements in
procedures and software tools used. Will provide technical and process
vision and leadership to continuously improve the quality and efficiency of
the software development life cycle (SDLC).
Requirements:
3+ years in a in a multi-platform production environment running builds,
creating releases, and/or administering SCM system.
Must be familiar with both UNIX and NT build and SCM issues.
Must be comfortable writing shell scripts (csh, ksh, perl, etc )
Must be comfortable writing and modifying Makefiles, with some knowledge of
C.
Must have knowledge of some mainstream SCM tools, such as CVS, Clearcase,
Continuus, or PVCS.
Must be able to work with multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be able to work well both independently and as a team member.
Familiarity with ISO 9000 and/or SEI Maturity Model specifications is
desirable.

As a part of the Software Component team, you will work on ILOG
Script, ILOG's portable implementation of the JavaScript(TM) scripting
language. ILOG Script is integrated into other ILOG products to give
them scripting capabilities.
The position would entail (among other things):
- Major new development on the JavaScript interpreter;
- Ports to new systems;
- Training, maintenance, technical and marketing support, and
documentation of the product;
- Helping other development teams integrate ILOG Script into
ILOG products.
The compensation package is highly competitive, and you would be
working with some of Europe's best developers.
French citizenship is not required. Speaking French would not be
strictly necessary, but you must be willing to learn it.
