I don't know about SORCERER, but JavaCC in conjunction with JJTree
has been used for this. You can get it from :
http://www.suntest.com/JavaCC
I don't know if it matters to you, but it generates parsers/lexers/tree
builders in Java.

Yes. It (JavaCC/JJTree) is 100% Pure Java certified and has been
successfully used on the Mac (with JDK1.0.2).
