                                      ³Testing Under Pressure²

Does your test team glide through testing like a flock of swans, or does a
flock of headless chickens come closer to an accurate description? Most
of us find ourselves with less time to test our products than weıd like,
due to hard deadlines (like January 1, 2000) or time-to-market pressures.

As testers, we need to explore strategies to deal with the inevitable
³Crunch Mode.² Some common ways of dealing with this involve pushing
testing tasks further forward in the lifecycle: Requirements Verification,
Design Reviews with ³testability² as one of the criteria, Formal
Inspections, incremental delivery and pushing risky items forward in the
development schedule.

Come join us as we explore these and other strategies to help us cope with
tight schedules for testing. We will hear from industry leaders,
practitioners and the research community. Iım sure you will find your
participation very worthwhile.

                                                            Genevieve Houston-Ludlam, Program Chair
