Subject: Research assistantships available at University of Cincinnati

Research Assistantships Available : MS And Ph D
                              ------------------------------------------------

Research assistantships are available beginning Spring '96 or Fall '96
in the area of 'Parallelizing Compiler Optimizations'. The total
number of assistantships available are 4 : 2 at MS level and 2 at Ph D
level. The assistantships comprise of full tuition waivers and a
stipend of $900-1000/month (depending on the qualifications).

The current research is focussed on developing compile + run time
program partitioning techniques on distributed memory systems. The
goal is to develop a nice mathematical framework involving
partitioning and scheduling of loop and functional parallelism on
distributed memory systems, implement it in a compiler backend and
validate by benchmarking. Sound mathematical abilities are essential
to the work. Knowledge of Linear Algebra and Integer programming is an
added advantage. However, it is not a must.

The University of Cincinnati offers excellent research environment and
degree programs at both MS and Ph D level in both Computer Science and
Computer Engineering. The current graduate enrollment in the
department is 100 MS students and 150 Ph D students. Cincinnati
offers a beautiful life style and concerts and cultural diversities
abound.

Those who are interested, please send a one page resume detailing your
GRE and TOEFL scores, GPA along with a statement of research.
