You may have noticed in the past week a couple of wildly off-topic
commercial messages. Unfortunately, the way that usenet is set up, it is
technically easy for someone to fake an approved message to comp.compilers
and send it out. That's what happened here. The COMPIL-L mailing list
mirrors comp.compilers, so it has the same problem.
The people who do this always have their accounts yanked, but there's not
much we can do to prevent it in the short term.
