There has been some work on reusability in attribute grammars:

U. Kastens & W.M. Waite: "Modularity and reusability in attribute
grammars", Acta Informatica 31 (1994), pp. 601-627

@phdthesis( bib:f2:carole,
    author= {Carole Le{ }Bellec},
    title= {La g\'en\'ericit\'e et les grammaires attribu\'ees},
    school= {D{\'e}partement de Math{\'e}matiques et
                                    d'Informatique, Universit{\'e} d'Orl{\'e}ans},
    month= jun,
    year= 1993
)

The latter reference is in French and unfortunately no paper has been
published to summarize this thesis, but you can contact me for more
details.
