Depending on what you are looking for, you might find the New Jersey
Machine-Code Toolkit useful. From a machine description, it generates
C code that encodes instructions, which is part of what an assembler
does. You can find more information at
    http://www.cs.princeton.edu/software/toolkit
A SPARC description is distributed with the toolkit.
