Your moderator, in the few minutes he has when not running comp.compilers,
made a television special on the Internet which is supposed to
br broadcast on most public TV stations in the U.S. some time in the next
few weeks. Each station schedules it separately, so you'll have to look
for it in your local listings.

It's called "The Internet Show" and looks at both some of the technical
aspects of the net and some human-interest bits on applications of the net.
It's a pledge week special, so there are interruptions for fund raising and
you'll probably be offered a swell glossy book that goes with the show. You
even get to see me turn to the camera and say "Good television is expensive,
so please call the number on your screen and pledge generously." I haven't
seen the final show yet since I don't have a TV, but the parts I saw while
we were shooting looked pretty good.

Incidentally, all of the on-screen network demos are real (which was a pain,
let me tell you), but in about half of the scenes where I'm driving the '57
Chevy BelAir convertible I'm not really driving.
