The Xerox Palo Alto Research Center has an opening as part of a project
exploring the use of metaobject protocols and other open implementation
techniques to develop more flexible and reusable software. The position
will involve collaborating with other projects to develop solutions
specifically suited to their requirements as well as generalizing those
solutions into more broadly applicable tools and techniques.


Applicants should have exceptional software building skills, and an
appreciation of the ideas behind object oriented programming. They should
be energetic, work well with others, and want to make a difference in
software technology. The kinds of intuition one gets from having spent a
long time thinking about any of the following would be tremendously
valuable: system software, programming language design and implementation,
reflection, metaobject protocols, incremental specialization,
partial-evaluation, Lisp. Applicants with or without advanced degrees are
encouraged to apply.
