Will be responsible for assisting in applying various code generation
and optimization techniques to company's compiler software. Requires 5+
years industry experience with specialties in parallel compiler development,

Tartan, Inc., a leader in the development of optimizing C, C++, and Ada
cross-compilation systems and related software tools for developers of
real-time embedded applications, has several summer intership positions
available. These positions are available from June through August, for
advanced undergraduate and graduate students looking for experience in a
commercial software company in Pittsburgh.


Activities will be tailored to individual experience, and will involve the
following: expanding existing compiler and debugger test suites;
restructuring existing debugger test suite into target dependant/
independant modules; customer bug verification and test case harnessing;
assisting in tool development, based on experience.


Successful applicants are expected to be fluent in C and must have
extensive experience with either Unix or MS-DOS. Applicants should also
be able to work well individual and as part of a team. Experience with
C++, Ada, MS-Windows, and previous commercial product development are all
pluses.
