The following positions are available immediately for
1) an experienced compiler developer with C++ implementation expertise and
2) a technical support team leader. The positions are with the
Motorola RISC Software Group, and will require relocation to Austin, Texas.
Job Description #1:
C/C++ optimizing compiler development for PowerPC microprocessors.
Primary responsibilities will include integration of C++ front end with
optimizing PowerPC compiler, development of optimized C++ runtime
environment, and optimization of code for PowerPC 601, 603, 604,
620 and embedded control microprocessors.
Requirements:
- Detailed knowledge of C++ language
- Commercial optimizing/parallelizing compiler implementation experience
- BSEE/BSCS or equivalent and 5+ years experience (MSEE/MSCS preferred)
- Familiarity with RISC microprocessor architectures
- Experience with one or more of the following operating system
environments: UNIX (AIX, Solaris), Macintosh/MPW, Windows NT
Job Description #2:
Technical support for Motorola PowerPC software products, including
optimizing C, C++ and FORTRAN compilers, debuggers and tools, for
multiple host and target platforms (UNIX, Windows NT, Macintosh).
Primary responsibilities will include leading a small team of
product engineers in the area of customer support and product
maintenance. The ability to communicate effectively with both
customers and developers regarding complex technical issues is a
critical aspect of this job.
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of C, C++ and/or FORTRAN compilers and debuggers
- BSEE/BSCS or equivalent and 3+ years experience
- Familiarity with RISC microprocessor architectures
- Experience with one or more of the following operating system
environments: UNIX (AIX, Solaris), Macintosh/MPW, Windows NT

#4294 - Technical Consultants (2) - Compilers
Design, implement and support major features and performance enhancements
of existing products. Requires 5+ years industry experience in compiler
development. Specialties and interests should include either back-end or
front-end optimization, UNIX-based systems, performance analysis, code
generation, instruction scheduling and software engineering. Location:
