Announcing:
FINANCIAL AID FOR U.S. STUDENTS TO ATTEND
THE 21ST INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON COMPUTER ARCHITECTURE
FROM THE NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION
In anticipation of a group travel grant from the National Science Foundation
for student attendees of The 21st International Symposium on Computer
Architecture (ISCA'94), Chicago, Illinois, April 16 - April 21,
1994, you are invited to submit an application for travel support.
The awards will be $300 for students outside a 500 mile radius of Chicago
or $150 for those within. Students presenting papers at the symposium
will have priority and will be awarded $300 regardless of their geographical
location. Such awardees must present their papers at the symposium.
Other awards will be
given to individuals who have provided special service to the symposium
(e.g., organizers, workshop speakers, etc.); to non-presenting co-authors;
and to other applicants from the computer architecture community. Any
member of the U.S. scientific community, irrespective of nationality, who
performs work in the U.S. is eligible to apply. Special considerations
will be given to minority applicants. Air travel must be on U.S. flag carriers.
Applicants supported by other grants and contracts are expected to
obtain travel monies from their supporting institutions. Since only about
thirty awards will be made under this program, it is important that other
sources be used where available.
Applications received by April 8th will have priority. Those received
afterwards will be selected on a first come first served basis until funds
run out. Travel grant recipients are determined by a selection committee
consisting of the the following members:
Alan Berenbaum, AT&T Bell Labs (chair)
Dave A. Patterson (University of California, Berkeley)
Dharma Agrawal (North Carolina State University, Raleigh)
A short trip report along with documented conference registration and
travel expense receipts is required within one month of the end of the
symposium. This material should be sent by award recipients to:
Prof. Wen-mei Hwu
Coordinated Science Laboratory
1038 W. Main St.
Urbana, IL 61801
