For visual languages, take a look in comp.lang.visual, if you haven't.
There are lots of pointers in the FAQ. Also, you might want to check out
the annual IEEE Visual Language Proceedings, as well as the Journal of
Visual Languages and Computing. There was a thread recently in the
newsgroup about how to specify and parse graph grammars.
