programmer positions and one technical writer position as part of an
effort at Rice University in Houston, Texas to design and implement the D
System, a set of advanced parallel programming tools including an editor,
debugger, and performance visualizer for Fortran D. Fortran D is a
predecessor of the recently announced High-Performance Fortran (HPF)
dialect. Key subprojects of the D System effort include the development of
a robust "visible" Fortran D compiler and the development of X-based user
interfaces to present the results of the Fortran D compiler's
sophisticated program analysis to users.
