I am looking for information on vpcc/vpo, the "Very Portable C Compiler/
Very Portable Optimizer". vpcc/vpo was developed at the University of
Virginia. An overview can be found in:
Manuel E. Benitez, Jack W. Davidson
"A Portable Global Optimizer and Linker"
      Proceedings of the SIGPLAN '88
Conference on Programming Language Design and Implementation
      Atlanta, Georgia, June 22-24, 1988

Is there anybody who have more information, especially on changing the
code generation for a new processor and adding an optimization pass to the
compiler.

In the article is also mentioned the RTL, the "Register Transfer List",
but no further information was given.

Thanks in advance
