The CS Lab at the University of Washington is interested in a port of gcc
to the KSR-1. Unfortunately, we don't have the resources to dedicate to
this port. Fortunately, we do have a KSR-1 :-)

Being an academic institution, we're not in the position of being able to
pay someone to do this work, but are hoping that someone might be
sufficiently interested in the challenge to want to try it if they could
get access to a machine. Naturally, the port would remain subject to the
GPL; the rest of the KSR community (and perhaps others) may benefit from
it.

Our guess is that it might not be very difficult to do the port, because
suitable precendents exist for most of the unusual aspects of the KSR-1
processor architecture. However, we might be wrong about this.

Please contact me if you are interested.
