We are about to undertake on a project to study pointer usage in
computer programs, and were wondering if anybody has written a tool that
will tell you what percentage of loads are, in fact, just getting addresses
for pointer dereferences...

If such a tool has been written, we would like to save ourselves the
time of writing it. If not, we would appreciate any suggestions on how we'd
go about doing this.
