Although the original note about "Register Variables" in interpreted
languages actually concerned the use of register (or other fast-access)
variables in the _implementation_ of interpreted languages, I thought it
worth noting in passing that Larry Wall's Perl has a _study_ command,
which has sort of the effect of a dynamic-extent "register" delcaration in
the (interpreted) _source_....


Pretty weird, I thought :-).
