Need recommendations on books for grammar writing

I have to write a view specification language that contains a subset
of SQL. Can anyone recommend any good compiler books that details the
process of grammar writing? Or is it essentially a "black art"?

[Interesting question, I don't know any books that specifically address
grammar writing. There are a bunch of SQL yacc grammars available including
one in the compilers archives; they should provide a good starting point.
