SECOND WORKSHOP ON PARALLEL COMPILATION
Donald Gordon Convention Centre
Kingston, Ontario
April 29th - May 2nd, 1992}

Aim:
The workshop is intended to provide an opportunity for those
interested in parallel compilation (that is parallelizing
the compilation task itself) to meet informally and exchange ideas.
It follows the successful workshop held in Kingston in May, 1990.
The topics below indicate the focus of the workshop. The
list is not intended to be exhaustive.

    * parallel parsing
    * parallel semantic analysis
    * complexity of compilation in parallel
    * performance issues
    * theoretical bounds on compilation algorithms
    * grammars appropriate for parallel compilation
    * specialised hardware and accelerators
    * static analysis
    * optimizations

Format:
Participants will be able to give half hour presentations.
There will be formal and informal opportunities for
group discussion. Informal Proceedings will be available at the workshop.
It may prove possible to publish selected papers in a more formal way.

Participation:
Spaces at the workshop are limited. Priority will be given to
those presenting their work and to their students. Others wishing
to attend will be invited as space permits.

Researchers are invited to submit an extended abstract of about 2000 words
by January 13th 1992. Invitations will be made by February 15th, 1992,
and final versions of papers will be required by March 15th, 1992.

The Workshop will begin with a Reception on the evening of
Wednesday April 29th, and conclude mid-afternoon on May 2nd to allow those
who wish to leave that evening to do so. Details of registration will be
sent with invitations.

Kingston can be reached by train from either Toronto or Montreal, and
by air from Toronto. It is also possible to fly to Syracuse, N.Y., and
drive from there.
