Could anyone give me some hints on geting a good reference for
beginners in the field of compilers ? Something which is
introductory and explains clearly all the processes involved.

Also, is there any compiler source (kit) available which could
be used as a tutorial on the techinques used in a compiler... ?

Finally, since my major concern is related with silicon (hardware)
compilation, rather than software compilers, could anyone point
me out any work which states the similarity between them (some
techniques used in software compilers should be also used in a
silicon compiler - functional synthesis, logic synthesis, etc).

Thanks a lot for any help.

Meyer.

talked about textbooks since last year. What's new? -John]
