Description:


The Principal Software Engineer will help drive forward next generation
technology through the use of compiler techniques. We are looking for
proven, world class technical expertise in compiler optimization.


Be a key contributor on SCEA 1st party's next generation PlayStation Tools
and Technology team


Provide technical leadership in a truly collaborative effort that brings
out the best in SCEA


Work with your team and other technical leaders to ensure the software is
elegant, efficient, utterly reliable, and done on time


Provide vision and direction in your area of technical specialization
Research, analyze, and write up technical designs and project plans and
review plans of others


Communicate clearly in the form of written correspondence and design
documentation


Work with technical writers as necessary


Create efficient, flexible, and sustainable architectures


Create automated tests to ensure reliability


Even your dreams should be in SSA form


At least 15 years experience, with at least 10 years related to
development tools


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work
experience


Less experience will be considered if combined with a Doctorate Degree or
Masters Degree, or equivalent experience if directly established in a
critical role on an open source project (e.g. LLVM, GCC, Perl, Python,
etc.)


Superlative software engineering knowledge and experience including expert
knowledge of C++ and of object-oriented design and implementation


Experience with multiple assemblers (such as PowerPC, Cell SPU, MIPS, x86,
ARM, 68k, 6502, etc.), scripting languages (such as Perl, Python, Lua,
bash) and interpreted languages (such as C#, Java, JavaScript), and
multiprocessor techniques


World-class experience in compiler optimization, including familiarity
with the LLVM compiler framework and the Clang front-end


Familiarity with multiple operating systems and ability to adapt to new OS
paradigms as needed


Proven world class experience in the development of exceptional
programming tools


Ability to self direct and self manage
Mentor more junior members of the team
Candidate must be able to quickly identify issues and resolve them
Knowledge of the game development process
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative team environment
Constantly innovate how to improve product quality and game team
productivity
Ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts, principles and solutions
Demonstrates dependability and commitment to projects/tasks
Must be able to work in a professional office environment
Approximately 10% international travel
