Thanks a bunch everyone! I find SSA a lot more natural now, and I've
realised that my implementation isn't taking good advantage of it.
I've also bought "Engineering a Compiler", which together with the
other papers you've suggested is helping me re-implement part of my
optimizer. Thanks again.
