The originators of symbolic evaluation and its used in testing were
Bill Howden, Jim King. Lori Clarke and a group at SRI who developed the
SELECT systems. The SELECT research was the most extensive when it came
to automated test data generation. King focussed on verification, and
Howden on symbolic testing.
