MIPS. We need an engineer to work on a world-class highly optimizing
compiler that produces fast, tight code to help customers develop
sophisticated embedded applications. You will work on code generation
and optimization areas of the compiler. You will have the opportunity
to work on other areas of compiler as well.


Qualifications 6+ years of industry compiler development experience
Experience in Compiler code generation and optimization technology
RISC architecture experience a major plus.
B.S/M.S in Computer Science/engineering

Job Description
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:


Responsible for the development and timely delivery of products.
Understand customer requirements from Sales, AEs and direct customer
contact, and translate them into new product features to be
implemented Define the content and time line for each release in
conjunction with Sales/AE, Chief Architect and management Prepare
development plan and track progress to ensure timely delivery of each
release
Partition the work between US and India teams and manage the deliverables
of the team in India
Manage post-delivery customer support and patch releases
Ensure good SW quality of the tool as well as the quality of the resulting
HW by putting appropriate development and QA processes as well as quality
metrics for each release
People-manage the team in Mountain View. Mentor team members, put work and
development plan for each person, track their progress, and conduct
performance evaluations.
Work with the management to prepare hiring plan, engineering budgets, IT
plan and HW/SW purchases
Manage the hiring of new team members


Experience and education:


BS, MS or Ph.D in Computer Sc. or Electrical Engineering
10+ years of experience in engineering management and product delivery
Proven track record in delivering EDA tools or semiconductor IP to
customers on time.
Proven track record in managing high performance engineering teams
Experience in managing geographically distributed teams
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent interpersonal skills
Experience in interacting with Senior management and board members
Significant experience in software release processes, especially in
releasing an EDA tool to customers, and in software QA
Technical knowledge and development experience in one of the following:
compilers, high level synthesis tools, EDA tools, microprocessor development


Desired Knowledge:
Technical knowledge and development experience in one or more of the
following: VLIW processors, ILP compilers, loop level optimizations, high
level synthesis
Experience in managing both SW and HW development teams
