The Sun SPARC backend compiler team has the following
open positions available:


REQUISITION DESCRIPTION #1


In this challenging position, you will be responsible
for designing, implementing, and testing the
state-of-the-art binary optimization and translation
techniques in the areas of instruction and data ordering
for I cache and D cache efficiency, static and dynamic
optimization for binaries and shared libraries, binary
profile instrumentation by using hardware counter,
binary transformation for program analysis and
architecture analysis, binary conversion for future and
new architectures.




Applicants should have a strong background in compiler
optimization techniques, particularly in the areas of
object, binary, and shared library optimizations, and
proven high quality software development experience.


Experience in processor and machine architectures and
the ability to work efficiently in an innovative team
environment is highly desirable.


Experience in operating system and linking editor is
a plus.


Previous patent grant is also a plus.


Extensive knowledge of C, Fortran, C++, and Unix.
Excellent programming skills, Compiler optimization
theory and techniques, Performance analysis skills
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Performance analysis on large application.

REQUISITION DESCRIPTION #2


In this challenging position, you will be responsible
for designing, implementing, and testing a
state-of-the-art application tuning system using a
versatile one of the best in the world compilers with
capabilities of global optimizations, cross module
optimizations, profile driven optimizations, and binary
optimizations.


Applicants should have a strong background in compiler
construction, particularly in the areas of optimizations
and proven high quality software development experience.
Applicant should also have a strong background in
application performance evaluation and analysis.


Experience in processor and machine architectures and
the ability to work efficiently in an innovative team
environment is highly desirable.


Experience in developing a graphical user interface and
web design with html and javascript is desirable.


Experience in operating system, shell scripts and
Perl is a plus.


Extensive knowledge of high level languages, such as,
C, C++, Fortran. Experience with Unix. Excellent
programming skills, Compiler optimization theory and
techniques, Performance analysis skills. Good verbal
and written communication skills.
