I also have two books, but if your looking to write a lexer/parser
from the ground up, then I'd say go for the "Dragon Book" (Compilers:
Principals, Techniques, and Tools) (if you dont have it). It explains
those subjects very well (especially the lexical analysis in my
opinion). Theres also some very basic examples, but its great to work
up from them. Good luck
