Developing cool software using UNIX/C++ is what you do best! You have
great analytical skills for solving complex algorithmic problems with
an emphasis on memory and performance optimization. That's required.
And - you really know software engineering concepts in a product
development cycle. That is a must. What? You are also strong in Java?
Great. You also have knowledge of EDA tools and did course work
related to functional verification. Compiler knowledge too?
Wonderful. One to five years or more of this experience makes you a
serious candidate. You'll be responsible for design & development of
system level design tools focused on verification / analysis aspects
in a team of highly experienced software developers. Plus, you will
use your creativity and smarts to do product development from
functional specification through design and development to the testing
stage. Your MSCS /MSEE or equivalent will help you to make a really
