Is there any public domain C preprocessor source available on the web?

I've heard that C preprocessors are extemely hard to write, so I'd
rather start with something thats already proven. The only one that I
found was for GCC but with the copyLeft, I would have to disclose the
source code for the entire program even though I only used the
preprocessor.

[I would look at the GNU Public License again. I can assure you from
experience that you can ship cccp as part of a software bundle without
having to copyleft the rest of the bundle. -John]
