Software Design Engineer - Multiple Opportunities!


Microsoft has several opportunities for strong compiler engineers with
an expertise in high end optimizing compilers. Design and implement
code generation and optimizations strategies for state-of-the-art
microprocessors. Responsibilities include: code quality analysis,
benchmarking, algorithm design & implementation, integration and
testing for new phases in Microsoft's optimizing compiler
backend. Heavy use of graph theory, dataflow analysis, advanced data
structures, and optimization strategies/techniques to solve complex
problems in code generation and optimization. Qualifications: Must
have experience developing a commercially available compiler, a
minimum of 3 years post academic experience and exceptional C/C++
skills. Working knowledge of BASIC or Java and one or more assembly
languages is a plus. BA/BS or an MS degree in Computer Science
preferred.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Purdue School
of Engineering and Technology, Indiana University-Purdue University at
Indianapolis (IUPUI), invites applications for two tenure-track
faculty positions at all levels. An earned doctorate is required.
Candidates should expect to teach undergraduate and graduate courses,
advise students, and conduct research in their field of
specialization. Strong candidates in all areas of computer engineering
are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to computer
engineering applicants in the areas of embedded systems, software
engineering, computer architecture, distributed computing, VLSI,
computer networking and operating systems. Applicants with
non-traditional areas of research such as e-commerce and informatics
are also encouraged to apply.


Faculty will be able to participate in inter-disciplinary activities
that involve other schools such as the School of Medicine and the
School of Dentistry. Additionally, faculty will be able to engage in
multi-campus efforts such as the development of the large scale
laboratories for pervasive computing research, the development of
strong collaboration activities with the School of Informatics and the
development of strong networking research that builds on the Abilene
(Internet2) advanced network backbone located at IUPUI. IUPUI faculty
members also have the opportunity to participate in industrial
collaboration with major companies located in Indiana such as Eli
Lilly and Company, Thomson Consumer Electronics, Dow AgroSciences and
Cummins Engine Company. Additional information about the department
