I always liked the use of syntax diagrams as a learning aid and
expository tool for leaning a grammer. A bit off topic, is the simple
display of diagrams from ebnf definitions. There is a general dearth of
such tools, but one stands out as outstanding. It is a program included
in the "Elegant" compiler writing system FREE from Philips Research. I
don't have the url handy but it is very easy to find with a google
search. The whole Elegant system is elegant, but I love the diagrammer
and use it occaisonally. This tool might help the original poster in
learning "how its done" .
Keep working on your idea, being a visionary.
