The Design Methodology group at ESDlab, Dept. of Electronics, Royal
Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden is looking for a PhD
student to work in the area of retargettable compilers for protocol
processors. This project is part of a larger effort in grammar based
design methods. Eligible candidates are expected to have a:
. Masters Degree in EE or CS
. Candidates with Bachelor's degree will also be considered but
enrolled in a Masters programme
. Strong background in Computer Science
and VLSI and good programming skills in C++/JAVA.
The project is located in Kista, a suburb of Stockholm
which is often referred to as the silicon valley of Sweden.

Kista has the largest concentration of electronic industries in
northern Europe and is home to many premier research and educational

Kista has affordable housing, excellent recreational facilities of all

down under by road, sea and air.
PhD studies in Sweden is considered as a normal job and starting
salary is 16000 SKR per month which is approximately taxed at the rate
of 30%. Tax includes a blanket medical insurance (not including
routine dental and eye care).
