CIF version 2 is described (along with a BNF grammar) in Carver Mead
and Lynn Conway `Introduction to VLSI systems' Addison-Wesley 1980
ISBN 0-201-04358-0
It was _the_ standard text on microelectronic design until CMOS became
ubiquitous - any good technical library should have a copy. See pages
115-127. If all else fails I'll fax you the relevant pages (unless
someone tells me I'm breaching copyright...)
