Can anybody recommend a broad description of instruction
scheduling in compilers for superscalar architectures?

After checking AltaVista and the FAQ, the articles I have
found are highly specific, and the issue is not covered
in books like [Appel 1997] or the Dragon Book.

Any pointers will be appreciated; if you mail me, I'll
post a summary.
