Organization: SOCS, McGill University, Montreal, Canada
Visual Edge Software is looking for several compiler/interpreter
specialists. We'll consider experienced C/C++ programmers interested
in moving into the area of compiler technology.
My project involves adapting a commercial C++ front-end that produces
C output. It's a hand-crafted recursive-descent parser that produces
an AST intermediate representation. The target application is a fully
interactive C++ interpreter to be integrated into an established Motif
Anticipated development work includes:
- performance enhancement
- upgrading to the most recent release of the vendor's
front-end (merging the modifications we have made in the
- retargeting the front-end to generate a proprietary
intermediate-language output output (this may include
extending the existing definition of the intermediate
- implementing an engine to interpret the intermediate
- adding support for additional C++ language features, such as
exceptions & templates
Visual Edge is a world-class technology development and licencing
company, best known for the market-leading GUI builder, UIM/X (tm).
Our new products include visual development technology for building
distributed applications being incoporated into the
next-generation offerings of the world's most successful software
companies. Our dynamic work environment supports a team philosophy
that encourages innovation and forward thinking.
