There's a book on the implementation of Smalltalk-80 that contains
lots of useful information for anyone who wants to write an
interpreter. There was also at least one ACM Symposium that had
`Interpreters' in the title, and I remember seeing some interesting
papers there, but I can't remember more except I had the vague
impression is was from the mid-80s.
