I've recently developed an interest in writing compilers using functional
langauges. By which I mean the *compiler* is written in a functional
language; it may be compiling something completely different. The
experiences I've had so far (Occam, using a compiler written in ML) make
me want to pursue this avenue a bit further.

What is the scope of the literature on this topic? If anyone's got any
good references, I'd appreciate having them. E-mail me and I'll
summarise.

Thanks in advance,
