I remember that M. Wolfe (and probably others) have tried to develop a
theory on loop transformations that looked at the loop transformation as a
matrix. Whenever a transformation is performed this amounts to a matrix
operation over the loop. Does anybody have references or new information?


In general, I am interested in a general theory on loop transformations.
