While not a particularly "technical" reference, the June 1991 "Computer
Language" contained an article entitled "A Perfect Marriage" and was
about the OO construction of an assembler and was IMHO quite
interesting. It was a fresh point of view on this classic problem.

Bulman, David. "Model-Based Object-Oriented Development," presented at
