Has anyone worked with the pascal p-code compiler?


In "Software -- Practice and Experience" Volume 8, pp 617-627, R.E. Berry
discusses his experience with such a compiler and also talks about discussion
going on about optimization phases in the assembler. Did this ever amount
to anything?


Also, A.J.T. Colin in Computer Journal, 1963, pp 67-68, "Note on coding
Reverse Polish expressions for single-address computers with one accumulator"
discusses a RPN system that has been implemented in a pascal p-code
compiler by folks at the University of Hull, U.K. (cf SPE, Vol 10, pp 241).
Has anyone implemented this?
