Date: Thu, 07 Jun 2007 11:33:16 -0400

Technical Choices is a software staffing firm that focuses on helping
startups hire technical people at all levels. Our client, a 60 person
startup in Waltham, MA, building an event stream processing product, is
looking for a Programming Languages expert to join its engineering team.
This SW Engineer's primary focus will be to help design and implement
features for their custom, compiler-based language for stream processing.

Sample projects may include:
Designing a formalism for consistent handling of timeouts and out-of-order
data in a distributed system.
Implementing an optimization pass that eliminates intermediate loads and
stores, does constant folding, loop hoisting, and so on.

The ideal candidate will have theoretical and practical experience with
functional, declarative, constraint, and dataflow programming languages, as
a user and as an implementer. Hands-on development expertise is required,
with expertise in developing new algorithms and innovative solutions for
processing data in high performance distributed systems.

BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science + 5 years programming experience, and
expertise in compiler front-ends, creating high performance implementations
of language features. SQL/DB experience also required.

Compensation: $100-130K + equity.
