I want to port one of the latest versions of GCC to an instruction set
called PISA which is used in SimpleScalar which is a microarchitecture
simulator.

We have two sucessfully ported version of GCC:
GCC-2.6.1 and GCC-2.7.2.3

My question is:
If these older versions were already ported, what does it take to port
a newer GCC for this instruction set?

I am not a compiler GURU but I played with GCC's configure scripts for
a while when I was trying to build the GCC-2.7.2.3 build.

Any pointers would really help.

Thanks for your time and help.

Hameed.
